Hello canyongirl! I have used 3M Step and Ladder Tread Tape that is available in our paint department to add traction to my stair steps. It is a black tape rated for indoor and outdoor use and it resists UV rays and sunlight. I have used the product and know that it is long lasting under heavy traffic the tape really sticks!
